Does anti-wrinkle treatment or dermal filler hurt?

Anti-wrinkle treatment uses a very small needle to inject so its usually well tolerated and no numbing cream is necessary. With dermal fillers numbing cream is usually required for extra comfort, especially in sensitive areas such as the lips.

Your comfort with be monitored throughout the treatment and time will be taken to ensure you are as comfortable as possible.

Are chemical peels safe and will they damage my skin?

Obagi blue peel radiance is offered which is a gentle superficial peel. It is known to be safe for all skin tones. It works by using chemicals (salicyclic acid) to removes the top layer of the skin revealing fresh skin beneath. It has little to no recovery time being a gentle peel. It does not damage the skin but rejuvenates it.

During the procedure there can be some mild stinging which settles quickly once the peel is washed off. After the peel there may be some minor peeling which can be managed with moisturisers. Obagi hydrated is included with all chemical peel treatments.

You will receive a patch test before having the peel to ensure you do not have any sensitivities.

You will also be screened for specific skin conditions prior to the peel. Plus if you are already using products such as retinols or having laser treatments you would have to stop using them prior to the peel or wait several weeks before its safe to proceed.

Pregnant or breast feeding women are unable to have chemical peels.

Are Anti-wrinkle treatments and dermal fillers safe?

Anti-wrinkle treatments and dermal fillers have been used since the 1980s. Many treatments have been approved for cosmetic use over the years. High quality products in professional hands are relatively safe. Both anti-wrinkle treatment and dermal fillers have little or no recovery time.
As with all procedures there are always risks; these include bruising and bumps. These are avoided as much as possible during the treatment, if they do occur they settle quickly. Strict infection control is practiced to reduce any risk of infection.
Pregnant or breast feeding women are unable to have these treatments. Those with certain allergies and medical conditions may also not be suitable.
A full consultation is provided with medical questionnaire to check suitability for treatment. Aftercare is also provided with written information and a review appointment.
